In today's economy every one is looking for ways to reduce the amount of money that floats out of their bank accounts every month. Thrifty consumers are learning about new ways to shave down the cost of just about everything. If you are in the market for car insurance here in Pembroke Pines, there are a few things that you should know about saving money.
Independent insurance agents don't work for the insurance companies, they work for you. And with multiple insurance carriers available to quote your auto insurance coverage, you can get all your shopping done without any of the work.
We'll run quotes for multiple carriers so you can be sure you're getting the best deal.
2) Do You Really Need Roadside Assistance?
The general thinking among most folks is that when it comes to roadside assistance, it is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. That's a good point, but we've seen many customers coming from other agencies who are paying their insurance company for roadside assistance when they're also a member of AAA.
We're all for anything that keeps our clients safe, but you only need one good roadside assistance plan so if you're already paying for it somewhere else, there's no need to get it on your insurance policy. Or drop the outside coverage and let your carrier help with that.
3) Train Those Young Drivers
If you have a teen driver in your household, you are probably riddled with stress each and every time he or she asks if they can borrow the car. The good news is, you don't have to lose your hair and all of the extra funds in your wallet just because you happen to have a teen driver in your home. Making sure that your teen has taken a state approved driver's education course can score you a cheaper rate.
If your teen has his or her own car, make sure that you add it to your policy, doing this is almost always a cheaper way to go than going out and purchasing an individual policy but every situation is different. In some cases, college students that are attending school over 100 miles away from home, and don't have a car on campus may also qualify for a lower premium.
4) Grill Your Current Agent
When it comes to the possibility that you may be able to keep a few dollars in your wallet, you should not be shy about seeking, or asking about any discounts that you might be eligible for.
You may qualify for a safe driver discount if you have not had any moving violations or accidents in a three year span of time. Some companies offer loyalty discounts to customers that have been with them for long periods of time. People who are retirees or over the age of 55 might also be eligible to pay a lower premium on their las vegas auto insurance policies.
At our agency we always triple-check our clients' policies to make sure they're getting all the discounts they deserve, but if you're not with us talk to your agent. (or better yet, get a quote from us!)
5) Don't Duplicate Coverage
In some cases you can get away with purchasing the minimum personal injury protection coverage that your state will allow, if you already have fairly decent disability, health, and life insurance policies. There is no need in purchasing coverage that you already have, so just say thanks, but no thanks.
Be careful though, because it's not always obvious how auto and medical insurances work together. Make sure you talk to a licensed agent qualified to help you make that determination.
There are a few other things that you can do to reduce your rate, like for instance, dropping the collision and or comprehensive coverage on your older model car. But if you're really serious about saving money on your car insurance, you can always take the easy way out and just give us a call at (954) 431-9423.
